The Berrien Rebels will be playing at home against the Dodge County Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Berrien suffered their biggest defeat since November 28, 2023 on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Fitzgerald, falling 71-32. While losing is never fun, Berrien can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Fitzgerald is ranked 155th).
Meanwhile, Dodge County unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 49-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sumter County.
Dodge County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lyric Green, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Ja"Vonna Hamilton who scored nine points along with five rebounds. That was a full 37.8% of Dodge County's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Berrien now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Dodge County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Berrien lost to Dodge County at home by a decisive 61-42 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Berrien avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
