The Douglas Tigers's four-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They managed a 43-38 victory over Bishop Manogue. For Douglas, this counts as revenge for the 68-44 loss Bishop Manogue walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Caden Thacker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with four steals. He also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Jeremiah Pitts was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Despite the loss, Bishop Manogue saw an underclassman step up: Liam Sorensen scored 15 points along with five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Sorensen scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was James Williams, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Bishop Manogue were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Douglas' victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8. As for Bishop Manogue, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Douglas will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on St. Anthony at 2:15 p.m. on December 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (St. Anthony is ranked 62nd in California, while Douglas is ranked 71st in Nevada). Bishop Manogue will be home for the holidays to greet Wooster at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
