North Jersey - Meadowlands recap October 22, 2013
Queen of Peace's Kevin Momnohin recorded the longest rushing play in North Jersey - Meadowlands this season in his game against Palisades Park/Leonia last week. Momnohin's team fell to the Tigers as he sprinted for 83 yards on the play and finished with 222 in all.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Palisades Park/Leonia beat Queen of Peace 34-27. The victory was the sixth in a row for david schuman's team.
Adeyemi Da Silva provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Tigers bested Bob Kearns' team. He completed 16 passes for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 93 yards. Da Silva's favorite target this week was Malik St. Hilaire, who caught 6 passes for 55 yards.
Momnohin was a beast in the backfield as the Golden Griffins lost to Palisades Park/Leonia.
Anthony Villano and Momnohin gave Queen of Peace a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Villano threw for 176 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Momnohin ran for 222 yards.
Becton's Karriem Royster and Joe Penna led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Royster has thrown for 1,116 yards this season, while Penna has 39 catches for 526 yards. The Golden Griffins' Momnohin leads the league in rushing yards with 1,169.
Two of the top units in North Jersey - Meadowlands will face off this week when Hasbrouck Heights takes on Waldwick/Midland Park. The Aviators' offense has recorded 276 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Warriors have permitted only 62 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Hasbrouck Heights takes on Waldwick/Midland Park. As it stands, Nick Delcalzo's team is in second, while Greg Gruzdis' team is in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Aviators take on the Warriors. Hasbrouck Heights has allowed 63 points this season, while Waldwick/Midland Park has given up 62. The Aviators allowed 15 points last week as they topped Saddle Brook.
The Warriors took down Park Ridge 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
