Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while Brentwood Christian is ranked 588th), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
St. Thomas Episcopal was led to victory by Jarod Mosely and Aiden Law. Mosely scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Law scored 36 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Law has scored at least 25% of St. Thomas Episcopal's points.
St. Thomas Episcopal's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.9 points per game. As for Brentwood Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
St. Thomas Episcopal will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Houston HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Brentwood Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against New Braunfels Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
