Softball Recap: Lakota Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

While Lakota put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Toledo Christian. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Eagles. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by seven runs or more this season.

Sophia Bomer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Hannah Stahl was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Chevelle Rubel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

The win (which was Lakota's sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Toledo Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Lakota will challenge New Riegel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Toledo Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
