Intermountain Christian is 6-0 against the Knights since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The pair will face off at 1:00 p.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Intermountain Christian has four straight victories, the Knights have three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Intermountain Christian can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They breezed by Freedom Prep Academy at home to the tune of 70-18. While fans of Intermountain Christian might be used to big wins, the 52-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Elaine Lunsford continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with eight steals. Another player making a difference was Kendrick Lusk, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Merit Preparatory Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 28-23 to the Eagles.
Intermountain Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.8 points per game. As for Merit Preparatory Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Everything went Intermountain Christian's way against the Knights when the teams last played on Monday as the Lions made off with a 60-35 win. Will Intermountain Christian repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
