The Soquel Knights lost against the Aptos Mariners on January 9th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Soquel was the victim of a rough 65-41 loss at the hands of Aptos. Soquel has struggled against Aptos recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Isaiah Ackerman was his usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with four steals for Aptos. Ackerman is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Calfe, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Soquel's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Aptos, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Soquel will take on Harbor at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aptos, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Santa Cruz at 7:30 p.m. Santa Cruz presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Aptos in California (Santa Cruz is ranked 115th, while Aptos is ranked 298th).
