The Seneca Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Youngsville Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Seneca has given up an average of 10.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for Seneca after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They lost 11-4 to Union City. The Bobcats have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Kendall Yosten put in work while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 4.2 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Greg Rupp made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Zyon Pring also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Youngsville). They put the hurt on North Clarion with a sharp 16-1 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Like Seneca, Youngsville also got a great game from a two-way player: James Johnson. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Johnson a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Youngsville got a big performance out of Cole Johnson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Bryce Spinks was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs.
Youngsville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory got Youngsville back to even at 4-4. As for Seneca, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seneca has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Youngsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Seneca's way against Youngsville when the teams last played back in May of 2021, as Seneca made off with a 12-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
