Pine Grove and North Schuylkill are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but not for long. The Pine Grove Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the North Schuylkill Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pine Grove is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Monday, Pine Grove was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 49-43 to Panther Valley. While losing is never fun, Pine Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 376th, while Panther Valley is ranked 179th).
Meanwhile, North Schuylkill pushed their score all the way to 66 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 80-66 fall against Blue Mountain. North Schuylkill has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Pine Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for North Schuylkill, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.
Pine Grove lost to North Schuylkill on the road by a decisive 62-43 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Pine Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
