Basketball Recap: Fallbrook Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Fallbrook won the last time they faced Valley Center, and Elliott Watkins did his part to make sure it happened again. The Fallbrook Warriors enjoyed a cozy 82-63 victory over the Valley Center Jaguars on Tuesday thanks in part to Watkins, who went 14 for 19 en route to 36 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Petey Pizzo, who posted 12 points along with eight boards and four steals. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played.

Despite the loss, Valley Center still got an impressive performance from Lincoln Zetmeir, who went 10 of 21 on his way to 27 points. That was a full 42.9% of Valley Center's points, marking the 19th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dustin Hotchkiss, who had eight points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds.

Fallbrook has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.8 points per game. As for Valley Center, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fallbrook will square off against Rancho Bernardo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rancho Bernardo's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups. As for Valley Center, they will face off against San Pasqual at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley Center is facing San Pasqual at the right time seeing as San Pasqual is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
