Shadow Ridge hasn't had much luck against Centennial recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mustangs will take on the Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. Centennial took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Shadow Ridge, who comes in off a win.
Shadow Ridge took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over Pahrump Valley. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Spencer Walters looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Brayden Leavitt was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Noble, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Shadow Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Centennial faced Palo Verde in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Elijah Wilcut was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Centennial saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Terrell Otis, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Shadow Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-8.
Shadow Ridge beat Centennial 11-8 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
