13 must be Pleasant Ridge's lucky number: they beat Horton with that score not once but twice on Thursday. The Rams blew past the Chargers 13-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-0 on Thursday.

Pleasant Ridge got a massive performance out of Gracie Kern, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that Kern brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Emily Goodson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Pleasant Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

The victory got Pleasant Ridge back to even at 2-2. As for Horton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pleasant Ridge is set to square off against their familiar foe Valley Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Rams are on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and the Dragons a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck. Horton will face off against rival Jackson Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
