On Friday Toledo take on Knappa at 7:00 PM. The odds don't look promising for Toledo, but the bigger the opponent is, the harder they fall.
Toledo had to kick off their season on the road last week, but they showed no ill effects. They were able to grind out a solid win over Nestucca, winning 29-18. Sophomore Donny Villanueva, who rushed for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Toledo's success. Villanueva was a defensive playmaker as well with a menacing 3 sacks.
Meanwhile, Knappa gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener. They took down Grant Union 26-6.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 1-0. Knappa's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Toledo defensive front that amassed 9 sacks against Nestucca, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
