The Maysville Panthers waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 67-57 victory over New Lexington. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Alex Bobb, who went 6 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 36 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jordyn Watson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Maysville's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for New Lexington, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3.
Maysville will take on West Muskingum at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Muskingum focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday. As for New Lexington, they will head out on the road to challenge Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Logan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 744th, while New Lexington is ranked 128th).
