The Lenox Memorial Millionaires are taking a road trip to square off against the McCann Tech Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lenox Memorial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Lenox Memorial's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Mahar Regional 13-0. The Millionaires have beaten the Senators the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Senators has come to flipping the script.
Seamus Cooney and David Kirchner made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Cooney tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Kirchner tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cooney also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lenox Memorial is 4-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. At the plate, Cooney went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Kirchner went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Robbie Bazinet was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Lenox Memorial: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Tyler Giardina also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Lenox Memorial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, McCann Tech had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Mounties. That's two games straight that the Hornets have won by exactly three runs.
Brody Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dylan Turner, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Hayden Barrett, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
McCann Tech's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Lenox Memorial, their record now sits at 6-4.
Lenox Memorial came out on top in a nail-biter against McCann Tech when the teams last played on April 1st, sneaking past 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Millionaires since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
