The Queensbury Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Glens Falls Black Bears at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Queensbury put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Gloversville with a sharp 23-10 win. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Huskies/Dragons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Haylee Hayes was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Queensbury got a massive performance out of Ava Goertzen, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Goertzen has posted since back in May of 2024. Mckenna Hazelton was another key player, going 3-for-5 with six RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Queensbury was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .605. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Glens Falls came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 10-5.
Jilyse Owira spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Isabella Johnson was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Carner, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Queensbury's record is now 8-10. As for Glens Falls, their record now sits at 12-6.
Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Queensbury hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .348. However, it's not like Glens Falls struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Queensbury came up short against Glens Falls in their previous matchup back in April, falling 4-0. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
