Cobleskill-Richmondville suffered their biggest loss yet this season last Friday. They took a serious blow against Ichabod Crane, falling 78-51. While losing is never fun, Cobleskill-Richmondville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 612th, while Ichabod Crane is ranked 106th).
Meanwhile, Catholic Central came tearing into Sunday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Our Lady of Lourdes 85-50 at home. Catholic Central has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Catholic Central can attribute much of their success to Darien Moore, who scored 32 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Sei'Mir Roberson, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 6 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roberson has scored all season. Xaul Arroyo was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Cobleskill-Richmondville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Catholic Central, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
Cobleskill-Richmondville took a serious blow against Catholic Central when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 94-35. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cobleskill-Richmondville was down 54-17.
