It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Gulf Shores Dolphins had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 41-0 victory over Charles Henderson. The win was just business as usual for Gulf Shores, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Kolin Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 128 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Wilson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards. Ronnie Royal made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Gulf Shores pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 7-3 Vigor and 8-4 Rain (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 57.6% over those games). As for Charles Henderson, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Gulf Shores will head out on the road to face off against Headland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Headland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Gulf Shores is ranked 13th). Charles Henderson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
