Softball Recap: Abbott Victorious

Abbott saw some tournament action on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 21-7 margin over the Stephenville FAITH Knights.

Abbott let Kylee Nors and Kinlee Smith run wild. Nors went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases, while Smith went 3-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and three doubles. The dominant performance also gave Nors a new career-high in RBI (five). Kynzleigh Crawford was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.

Abbott was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stephenville FAITH only posted a batting average of .300.

Abbott's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Stephenville FAITH, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Abbott will be taking part in a tournament against Hamilton at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Stephenville FAITH, they will take on Keene at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
