West hasn't had much luck against Alta recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. West will head out on the road to face off against Alta at 4:00 p.m. West has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
West is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 22nd straight game dating back to last season on Saturday. They lost 15-2 to Roy.
West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izaiah Holley, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Isaac Salazaar also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alta, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over Viewmont on Saturday.
Levi Stevenson tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Crew Scheel, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Periera, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Alta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.
Alta's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.67 runs across that stretch. As for West, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
West suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Alta in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
