Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday the Wildcats sidestepped the Lions for a 24-22 victory.
The Mustangs' victory bumped their record up to 2-3-1. As for the Wildcats, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season.
The Mustangs came up short against the Wildcats in their previous meeting back in January, falling 42-29. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
