Athens Christian moved up to 233 from 274 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in A Region 8. The Eagles were able to make move up by defeating Jackson County 42-39.
Athens Christian and the Panthers played the closest game in the league this week, with Athens Christian eventually emerging with a 42-39 victory.
Hebron Christian Academy's Conner Holliday and Jacob Harper have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Holliday has thrown for 375 yards this season, while Harper has 6 catches for 178 yards. Stanley Williams from George Walton Academy leads the league in rushing with 233 yards.
A big matchup in A Region 8 this week will be when Pinecrest Academy takes on Lakeview Academy. As it stands, the Paladins are in third, while the Lions are in ninth.
Towns County lost to Rabun County 55-13 last week, the largest margin of any game.
