The Kingsbury Falcons suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Overton, falling 85-13. Kingsbury has not had much luck with Overton recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Kingsbury got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Angela Williams and
Maleah Ward, who each put up five points.
Kierra Baldwin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Overton, scoring 27 points along with nine steals. Baldwin hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nia Smith, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five steals.
Kingsbury's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Overton, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Kingsbury will take on Whitehaven at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitehaven presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kingsbury in Tennessee (Whitehaven is ranked 34th, while Kingsbury is ranked 388th). As for Overton, they will head out on the road to challenge Memphis Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
