After three games on the road, Benedictine is heading back home. They will take on The Islands Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Benedictine is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Islands in Georgia (Benedictine is ranked 19th, while Islands is ranked 367th).
Last Friday, Benedictine's game was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past Wayne County with points to spare, taking the game 38-21.
Benedictine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryce Baker, who gained 81 total yards and two touchdowns. Luke Kromenhoek was another key contributor, throwing for 151 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Islands, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 54-13 loss at the hands of New Hampstead.
Despite the loss, Islands got a solid performance out of Amaree Bedgood, who punched in a rushing score, and also picked up 79 receiving yards. Bedgood was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 67 yards.
Benedictine's win was their 20th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.55 points. As for Islands, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
