It was a good run, but the Celina Bobcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 43-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Anna. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Celina of the 62-46 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.
Anna found their leader in underclassman Holland Jackson, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Jackson pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayonna Cooper, who scored four points along with 18 rebounds and four steals.
Celina's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Anna, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Celina will face off against Aubrey at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Aubrey is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Anna, they will head out on the road to face off against Panther Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Panther Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
