Andalusia has won three straight games at home, while Montgomery Academy has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Andalusia Bulldogs will welcome the Montgomery Academy Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Andalusia's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Greenville 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Riley Cravey and Connor Ray were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Cravey tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Ray tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cravey also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Andalusia is 2-0-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise. At bat, Cravey scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1, while Ray scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. What's more, Ray posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Asher Bentley, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Andalusia is undefeated when Bentley posts two or more runs, but 3-5-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kielan Davis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Andalusia always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
While Montgomery Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They skirted past Reeltown 12-11.
Montgomery Academy let John Allen Jones and Oscar Fiore run wild. Jones scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Fiore scored three runs while going 2-for-6. Those hits were Fiore's first of the season.
Andalusia is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. Montgomery Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Andalusia has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Montgomery Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Andalusia came out on top in a nail-biter against Montgomery Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. Will Andalusia repeat their success, or does Montgomery Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
