The Centralia Panthers will face off against the Onaga Buffaloes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
It was a proper cat-fight when Centralia faced off against Frankfort on Monday. The Panthers came up short against the Wildcats, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 3rd.
Meanwhile, Onaga came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Rams 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Buffaloes, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.
Jacob Ronnebaum tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Onaga got a massive performance out of Jackson Kolterman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The Buffaloes are 8-1 when Kolterman posts two or more runs, but 3-6 otherwise. Maddex Honas was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Onaga always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Onaga's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Centralia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.
Centralia might still be hurting after the 14-4 defeat they got from Onaga in their previous meeting on April 7th. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
