Ripley is a perfect 3-0 against Hoover since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Ripley will take on Hoover at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Ripley was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Nitro on Tuesday. Ripley put the hurt on Nitro with a sharp 12-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Landon Meadows was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Meadows was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Bryson Casto and Jackson Curry did most of the damage at the plate: Casto scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2, while Curry scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Casto is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Eli Phalen was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
Meanwhile, Hoover beat Wayne 10-6 on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won three in a row.
The team relied heavily on Braydon Bounds, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one double. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Peyton Grigsby also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Hoover kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Hoover's record now sits at 3-1. As for Ripley, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Everything went Ripley's way against Hoover in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Ripley made off with a 6-0 victory. Does Ripley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hoover turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
