North Central recap October 22, 2013
Kokomo took down Anderson 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bo Baker ran for 185 yards and caught 1 pass for 19 yards during the win.
Muncie Central led North Central in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on Marion.
Jordan Christian was a passing and rushing force as Richmond beat Logansport. He completed 16 passes for 244 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 14 yards. Christian's key target this week was Tyler Ripperger, who caught 10 passes for 109 yards.
Keenan Leichty threw for 213 yards and 4 touchdowns. He went 17-32 with 1 interception.
Baker was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 185 yards on 21 carries as the Wildkats topped the Berries. Cuba Evans also contributed to the rushing game with 48 yards on the ground.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Huntington North's Leichty and Scott McClellan have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Leichty has thrown for 2,166 yards this season, while McClellan has 61 catches for 891 yards. Baker from Kokomo leads the league in rushing with 1,274 yards.
So far this year, Christian has thrown for 1,810 yards with 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Brett Colby's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,428 from 8,239. The improvement was the result of a 42-7 victory over the Indians last week.
