Carias dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Velez scored 28 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Velez has scored at least 25% of Vine Christian Academy's points. Kaleb Velez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Vine Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Central Pointe Christian Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
