The Johns Creek Gladiators fell victim to the Alpharetta Raiders''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 42-0 loss at the hands of the Raiders. Johns Creek's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the squad, making it six in a row.
Matthew Richards threw for 100 yards on six of 16 attempts. Larry Blumen was his top target, picking up 78 receiving yards.
Alpharetta can attribute much of their success to Sean Wilson, who picked up 142 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wilson's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards.
Johns Creek's loss was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. As for Alpharetta, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johns Creek will face off against Pope at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Alpharetta, they will head out on the road to face off against Blessed Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Blessed Trinity is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
