Blake Walker was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Austin Frank looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Central Mountain got a massive performance out of Malaky Moyd, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Moyd a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Maldonado, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
Central Mountain hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Punxsutawney made easy work of Brookville on Wednesday and carried off a 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Chucks, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Parker Stahlman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stahlman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lucas Silverstein was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Landon Neal was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Central Mountain pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Punxsutawney, their record is now 11-2.
Both Central Mountain and Punxsutawney just can't seem to miss. The Wildcats have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.6 hits per game. However, it's not like Punxsutawney struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
