The Parkway West HOYAS had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a hard 54-35 fall against Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech.
When it comes to explaining why Parkway West lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tylil Howard. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 22 points and 10 steals. Another player making a difference was Bouya Gakou, who scored 4 points.
Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kwasi Hawkins out in front who scored 12 points. Cedric Brown Jr. was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Parkway West's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing TECH Freire Charter the next time they take the court. Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech will host TECH Freire Charter at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, while Parkway West will head out to face them at 3:15 p.m. on December 14th.
