Basketball Recap: Draughn Sets Scoring Season-High Against Owen

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Draughn). They really took it to the Owen Warhorses for the full four quarters, racking up an 81-24 win. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 24 points or more this season.

Several Warhorses players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mia Roland, who posted seven points and 16 rebounds. Roland has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. Elly Wright was another key player, putting up six points.

Draughn has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for Owen, they dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Draughn and Owen will both be playing Mitchell the next time they take the court. Draughn will head out to face Mitchell at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Owen will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
