For the second straight game, Widefield will face off against Palmer. The Gladiators will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Terrors at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Widefield has six straight wins, Palmer has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Widefield got the win against Palmer by a conclusive 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Gladiators, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Liam Gordon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Brody Gizzi and Nick Prantl did most of the damage at the plate: Gizzi went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Prantl went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Prantl has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Zane Cleaton, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Widefield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Widefield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Palmer, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
Palmer's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Widefield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. It's a different story for Palmer, though, as they've only averaged .247. Will they be able to contain Widefield's hitters?
