The Forgan Bulldogs had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Rolla by a score of 42-32 on Friday. The win was just what Forgan needed coming off of a 66-33 loss in their prior match.
Rolla lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Elena Reza, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 68.8% of Rolla's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Reza, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Rolla smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Forgan's victory bumped their record up to 2-16. As for Rolla, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forgan won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Laverne at 6:30 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Rolla, they will head out on the road to challenge Fellowship Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fellowship Baptist Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rolla in Kansas (Fellowship Baptist Academy is ranked 108th, while Rolla is ranked 331st).
