Kaw Valley recap November 13, 2013
Piper moved up to 65 from 99 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Kaw Valley. The Pirates climbed the ranks as a result of topping Spring Hill 20-14.
Mill Valley extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Aquinas, 38-6. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Jaguars.
Scott Hattok was a key player and the best on defense this week as Lansing fell to Bishop Miege. The 6-foot-6 sophomore racked up 1 sack.
Khalil Bailey was the best wideout in the league this week as the Lions lost to the Stags. Bailey racked up 7 receptions for 82 yards. Colin McQuillan helped Lansing's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 75 yards.
Lansing's Krystian Abbott and Bailey led Kaw Valley in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Abbott has thrown for 2,759 yards this season, while Bailey has 64 catches for 1,487 yards. Tonganoxie's Cole Holloway leads the league in rushing yards with 1,353.
So far this year, he has acheived 73 catches for 929 yards.
Piper and the Broncos played the closest game in the league this week, with Piper eventually emerging with a 20-14 victory. Tanner Eikenbary threw for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 16 yards in the win.
