The Narraguagus Knights will head out on the road to take on the Machias Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Narraguagus is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Narraguagus had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Sumner on Monday. The Knights' pitcher stepped up to hand the Tigers a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Knights have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

McKade Robertson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 runs per game.
In other batting news, Manny Absalom was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those triples marked the first that he has hit this season. Brody Robertson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Machias won against Woodland two weeks ago with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Bulldogs beat Shead by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-2. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Like Narraguagus, Machias also got a great game from a two-way player: Nick Hennessey. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Hennessey was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mickey Fitzsimmons, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brady Fergerson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Machias kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Narraguagus pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average this season. As for Machias, their record now sits at 3-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Narraguagus has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Machias struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Narraguagus' way against Machias when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Narraguagus made off with an 11-3 win. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
