The Stone Mountain Pirates lost against the Lakeside Vikings back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Stone Mountain's rough 33-7 defeat to Lakeside might stick with them for a while. Stone Mountain has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lakeside can attribute much of their success to Kyle Davis, who threw for 183 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelly Anthony, who picked up 35 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Stone Mountain's defeat was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. As for Lakeside, their victory bumped their record up to 4-4.
Stone Mountain will be playing at home against Midtown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Midtown is ranked 403rd, while Stone Mountain is ranked 426th). Lakeside will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Druid Hills at 7:30 p.m. on October 27th. Druid Hills is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
