The North Lawndale Phoenix will head out on the road to face off against the Clemente Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither North Lawndale nor Clemente posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
North Lawndale posted their closest victory yet this season on Thursday. They skirted past North Grand 25-22. The win was just what North Lawndale needed coming off of a 39-19 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Clemente's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 49-13 defeat at the hands of Lake View. Clemente was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-3.
North Lawndale is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Clemente, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Everything came up roses for North Lawndale against Clemente in their previous meeting back in February of 2017 as the team secured a 106-25 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Lawndale since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
