Hill City had a senior duo take command as Jaden Nuss scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and Dylan Gansel scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. Nuss is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Carson Keith was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Hill City's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.9 points per game. As for Oakley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hill City will face off against Phillipsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kansas (Phillipsburg is ranked 165th, while Hill City is ranked 167th). As for Oakley, they will head out on the road to take on St. Francis at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
