Poly is 7-1 against Paloma Valley since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bears will face off against the Wildcats at 3:45 p.m. Poly will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Poly barely beat Hemet the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Bulldogs on Thursday. The Bears might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
Marley Audoma spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brookelyn Duerfeldt was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Cortez, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
Poly hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Paloma Valley fell victim to Valley View and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 11-0. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.
Paloma Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meghan Bradley, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Poly's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Paloma Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Poly hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Paloma Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Poly took their victory against Paloma Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2022 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
