First Baptist School is on a three-game streak of home losses, Lake Marion a 12-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. The First Baptist School Hurricanes will be home for the holidays to greet the Lake Marion Gators at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
First Baptist School's 20-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 47-26 walloping at the hands of Woodland on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points First Baptist School has scored all season.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-35, which was the final score in Lake Marion's tilt against Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Friday. While losing is never fun, Lake Marion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Orangeburg-Wilkinson is ranked 27th).
