The Hillside Hornets are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights at 7:30 p.m. on December 26th. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Hillside struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Tuesday (Rolesville was 27% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Hillside was dealt a 63-31 loss at the hands of Rolesville. Hillside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-13.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kayden Sims, who scored six points along with six rebounds. Madison Malone was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Raleigh Christian Academy was beaten by Panther Creek 76-49 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, North Raleigh Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Panther Creek is ranked 32nd).
Hillside has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-9.
Everything came up roses for Hillside against North Raleigh Christian Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2016 as the team secured a 92-45 victory.
