Hillcrest Christian enjoyed a cozy 60-42 win over St. Aloysius on Friday. Given Hillcrest Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while St. Aloysius is ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Severe McNeary, who went 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 3 assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Hillcrest Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Barnes, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Hillcrest Christian pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. As for St. Aloysius, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
Hillcrest Christian will head out on the road to face off against Woodlawn Prep at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Cole Sinclair and McNeary. St. Aloysius does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
