Basketball Game Preview: J.F. Webb Warriors vs. Louisburg Warriors

J.F. Webb and Louisburg are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The J.F. Webb Warriors will host the Louisburg Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in J.F. Webb's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

While J.F. Webb didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They strolled past American Leadership Academy-Johnston with points to spare two weeks ago, taking the game 74-57. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Patriots are ranked 492nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

J.F. Webb found their leader in sophomore Daniel Wright, who went 8 of 20 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight boards and seven assists. The match was Wright's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kentrial Young, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Louisburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 41-35 heartbreaker at the hands of Warren County.

J.F. Webb's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Louisburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

J.F. Webb was taken down by Louisburg 64-31 in their previous meeting back in January. Can J.F. Webb avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
