The Greater Lowell Tech Gryphons will take on Pentucket Regional at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Greater Lowell Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Greater Lawrence Tech 15-1 on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Meanwhile, Pentucket Regional entered their tilt with Whittier RVT on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Wildcats. Pentucket Regional not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18, 2024 (when they won 12-2).
Luke Pergola made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Pentucket Regional is 2-1 when Pergola allows one or fewer earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Pergola was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tanner Kamuda, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Ted Cloutier was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Pentucket Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win got Pentucket Regional back to even at 4-4. As for Greater Lowell Tech, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
