The Vista PEAK Prep Bison have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 29 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Eagle Ridge Academy 79-49 at home. The victory was nothing new for Vista PEAK Prep as they're now sitting on four straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vista PEAK Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than James Brown III, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Brown III pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Devontay Bursey, who scored 17 points.
When it comes to explaining why Eagle Ridge Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaiah Garcia. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. Garcia scored a full 44.9% of Eagle Ridge Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Elias Legarda, who scored five points along with eight rebounds.
Eagle Ridge Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Vista PEAK Prep pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28.7 points. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-6 record last season and are now at 2-4.
Vista PEAK Prep will head out on the road to face off against Lewis-Palmer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewis-Palmer has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 467 points over their last seven matchups. Eagle Ridge Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lutheran presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Eagle Ridge Academy in Colorado (Lutheran is ranked 31st, while Eagle Ridge Academy is ranked 139th).
