The Rising Sun Tigers put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Aberdeen by a score of 56-48. Given Rising Sun's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Aberdeen is ranked 170th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jordan Lynch was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. Allison Stoudt was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four blocks.
Rising Sun pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Aberdeen, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Rising Sun will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Edgewood at 6:45 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Aberdeen will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kenwood at 5:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Hopefully Kenwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Wednesday.
