Soccer Recap: Piedmont Classical Wins Going Away Against Carver

Piedmont Classical's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Carver Yellowjackets 3-0. Piedmont Classical's winning goal came courtesy of Macy Straughn.

Piedmont Classical used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Carver. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Addison Wilson (70), Louisa Hernandez (80), and Straughn (80). The trio had averaged 46.7, 52.5, and 54.2 minutes respectively before Thursday's game. Straughn made the most of the opportunity, scoring two goals A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Piedmont Classical's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Carver, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Piedmont Classical will take on rival Cornerstone Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Carver is set to challenge their familiar foe Bethany Community at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
